While configuring Custom Loader power-up in your server GTM container on Stape, you can activate the “GA4 ad block bypass” toggle.

GA4 ad block bypass helps avoid the harmful impact of ad blockers on Google Analytics 4 tracking code. If the feature is activated, the GA4 requests will be encrypted to save all the data in the request.

How does GA4 ad block bypass work?

You can activate “GA4 ad block bypass” if you are using Google Analytics 4.

  1. When Google Analytics Tracking Code runs, it collects data about the visitors of your website.
  2. The information (e.g., pageview, click, transaction) is gathered in a separate request for each action/event.
  3. At this point, the data sent in the request can be lost due to a website visitor's use of ad blockers. The adblocker looks for patterns in the request URL that flag data collection (for example, the request contains "/g/collect"). “GA4 ad block bypass” will encrypt the requests sent by the GA4 tracking code, making it unrecognizable to ad blockers.
  4. When the requests are processed, GA4 strings together all the individual events and associates them with a specific session.
